Hi Guys,

Check out this pic please. I think this is Mallard (Keiths) Car.

Is this part number 800639/40 on this TRF catalogue?

https://www.zeni.net/trf/miniTR2TR3/31.php

Also, can anyone tell me if this part has the 3 cage nuts welded on the inside for the rear fender mounts?

I think that I might need to replace mine as there are so many pop rivets in there and metal over top of metal it is a real mess......

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Oh, Here is what mine looks like on the inside.

The cage nuts have all rusted off and you can see that the PO was just using regular bolts/nuts.....this explains the sheet metal screw attached access panel where the welded closing panel should have been.

panel, end stiffenig RH 800640 LH 800639 Cage nuts are included. PM me if you need the left side. I have one TRF replacement for the left side. The reason I did not use the TRF panel is because the stamping is not the same. The replacement has an oval raised area instead of the triangle shape as original on the early cars.

Thanks guys,

Cheers,

Bought a few new pieces today...

So, I said that this project was going to be done on a budget, the budget just keeps getting bigger thats all

Bought new inner sills today to go with the outers that I had allready bought....bought new floors and new side stiffeners for the rear.

I had allready patched the old sills with pieces from my parts car and I am sure that they would be fine, but they are not perfect and since I am there allready.....

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Hi JP,

To tell you the truth, My plan was to just patch the area as best as I could because I was a little afraid of removing a whole sill or a whole floor....less dauting to do it in pieces, less things to screw up. However, having looked at it now in greater detail and having spent more time on the car and learning as I go, the task now seems within my skill set and I am more confident that I can do this myself and not screw it up too badly.
I am going to have to do some re-work but that is ok. I am still having fun and thats all that is important! Will take lots of photos for sure and will lean on the guys here if I need some pointers along the way.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Follow up question. Does anyone know if the little tubes are available that the bolt runs through to attach the body to the chassis rear mounts?
