TR2/3/3A TR3A Part Needed

On the 3A there is a two master cylinder system. The reservoir for the system is held to the master cylinder mounting box with a clamp. As you can see from the picture mine is very pitted. Since it is out in front of God and all others I would like to replace it with a non-pitted one.

If any of you have one I would be happy to buy it plus shipping.

Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks, Tinkerman

First of all, that really doesn't look so bad, and you probably can improve the finish with some hand work. I don't know what type of tools you have, but a small air grinder or dremel used carefully should get rid of most of the heavy pitting. Just be careful, as you don't want to gouge it up or make it look not flat. If you follow up with some sandpaper and files, it should look good. Use a thick paint and it'll look like new. :yesnod:

Another alternative is to just make a new one. You have the pattern, so just get some steel at Home Depot the same thickness. A piece of pipe for the curved bends, a vise for the others. A little hammer work, a couple of holes and bada-bing you're done.

Or maybe someone has a good one to sell you.

Maybe a dremel as suggested and a couple of coats of a "primer/sealer" would fill any remaining pits before a topcoat.

Cheers,
Tush

If you don't want to use abrasives, a light coat of glaze and a little sanding would also do the trick.
