TR2/3/3A TR3A hoodstick cover

There was no hoodstick cover when I got my TR3A back in February, so I just ordered one (Moss). Of course I have to figure out how to mount those lift-the-dot fasteners ... but I also realize I don't have a clue how the cover fits on the car.

The back (where the fasteners will be attached) is obvious, but the front seems to have a "fold" and "side pockets" so the actual placement isn't intuitive to me.

Does anyone have any reference or suggestion (or instructions!) for adding the fasteners and placing the cover?

Thanks.
Tom
(still Piggott-less).

The pockets cover the top bow hinges, they fit right over top of them in the down position.
There are snaps at the rear bulkhead, it's been too many years since I had my 3 on the road so I can't remember the exact location, to keep the cover tucked up around the frame.

As noted, those pointy pockets towards the fron catch the 'knee' of the folded hoodsticks and keep the cover in place at speed.

The trickiest bit is the lift-the-dot peg that is/was back under the sticks on the inside edge of the capping piece. If you're real lucky - it is still there. If your a little lucky - you may be able to find the hole where it was. Failing those choices you need a pic or 2 of how it works (the lower edge of the front of the cover in the area of the rear corners sort of tucks under the sticks and then hooks onto the LTD peg. How it goes is sort of counter-intuitive as (if I recall correctly) it is sort of inside-out at that place.

In any case, I found I had to use a piece of foam under each side to make the cover look right when fitted.

Won't be home until Wednesday... if you're still in need of photos I can send then.

Thanks for your pointers. I'd never have figured that "fold and tuck" design out.

Unfortunately I don't have the $75 LTD hole punch tool, so I'll use chalk to mark where the big holes go, then manually punch (and then cut the tab slots with an x-acto). Wish me luck.

I do have one "inside" stud on the passenger side of the capping piece; I'll see if I can find the driver side hole to add a matching stud.

Thanks.

Me neither, I just do the main hole then position the upper half of the LTD over it... rest everything on a block of soft wood like the end grain of a piece of 2X4... the put a bit of scrap wood on the LTD and smack it smartly with a small hammer. The tabs are sharp enough to punch right thru most vinyl. If the vinyl is thick or multi-layered they will at least leave a partial hole you can poke thru with you Xacto.
