TR3,3,3A,3B - used a threaded screw (bolt) as the hinge pin for the door check straps. However, I can not find a listing for this screw in the parts catalog. Does anyone have a part number and /or a photo?

Thanks

Well, I was going to write that I believe it should be a round headed pin instead of a bolt. But then I looked at my SPC, where I see

I found a couple of 1/4" x 1" long rivets at the hardware store, that work great. Just drop 'em in the hole. If you need to take 'em out, just push 'em back up. At 1" long. they're not going to bounce out.

Spare Parts Catalogue; the factory book listing all (well, most anyway

) of the parts to build a TR. It's a very useful document, especially if you buy parts from The Roadster Factory as they don't publish a full catalog of their own, and instead use the factory part numbers.

Reprints of the SPC are available from TRF, or I have a PDF copy (originally scanned by Dan Buettner as I recall) that I might get on a web site, someday.

There is also a "magic decoder ring" for standard hardware numbers (like those above), but that's a different thread.

Mine were removed from the car when I got it so I'm not sure if it was a bolt or pin. But both of them show marks from a bolt or screw. You can see the marks from the threads.

Here's a picture of my passenger side before I took it apart. The drivers side had the same bolt, but missing the nut. -According to the SPC, the nut should not be nyloc, though there should be a locking washer.

Much of the my car had been restored with non-original parts. -like the bent nail in place of a mills pin in the accelerator linkage.

Hi Frank when I get home I will take a look, but if I remember right they used a beefy cotter pin against a pad and then the rubber
