TR2/3/3A TR3A hardtop

Is there a difference in size, shape, and fit in hardtops for TR2/3/3A. If so how can you tell which one fits which car. I have a TR3A.
I have also been told that OEM hardtops came in both fiberglass and aluminium. More info please. Are there any other differences that would make me lean towards one vs the other, and how can I tell if it is OEM.
What is a reasonable price to pay for one that's in good shape other than a paint job and new headliner? A google search didn't come up with a hit.

As far as I know, there was only one factory hard top for TR2-TR3B, P/N 556034, which was steel. The fiberglass ones were aftermarket, not aware of any in aluminum.

Sorry, no help on value. But the rear windows have been NLA for a long time, so just a good window should be worth something. Last time I looked, most of the rubber was available, but that may have changed. You'll also need the chrome brackets that fasten to the windshield and their special bolts, plus the chrome trim pieces for the rear capping. Some cars may need the brackets that go under the capping as well.

I believe factory hard tops were only made in steel, fiberglass are aftermarket. No size differences that I am aware of. Price wise I think factory tops are available for 500 or less but likely will need se refurbishment. The fitting kits are pricey, just under $200 if I recall correctly.

I'll back up Randall and Randy. Steel factory hardtop. I have two steel ones and a cheap aftermarket fiberglass one. Decent complete metal top $600/800 range. $300 needing back glass and paint.

I had one on my 1959 TR3. Definitely steel.
