Folks,

The Moss replacement fuel sending unit for a TR3 has the rheostat portion of the unit immersed in fuel. Is this a problem?

Thanks
Ron

No. However, I had a lot of trouble with the Moss unit. It doesn't accurately indicate the contents of the tank. This link explains it all, and what I did to correct it.

Edit: I bought the Moss unit about a year and a half ago, so maybe they have since changed what they are sending out. If yours looks like the Moss unit shown in the link I posted, which, by your description it seems to be, I would send it back.

The Moss sending unit I received is indentical to the one pictured in the link discussion, and my "original" sending unit matches that in the picture as well. I may try the Moss unit and return it if it demonstrates the same behavior described in the link. One would think that someone could make an accurate unit that works as well as, or as bad as, the originals rather than one that requires modification to use, like the NOS unit

Thanks,
Ron
