TR2/3/3A TR3A build dates?

Can anyone point me to a reasonable build date registry that has commission numbers broken out by year or better?

I know about the International TR registry, but I think those dates are not really tied to factory build dates. Not ready to go for a Heritage certificate yet either, I'd just like to know a reasonable Commission number chronology so I can place where my TR3a project(s) place.

Thanks,
Randy

Hi Randy,

I just did this!

Check out the "Moss Motors Tiumph" parts catalogue (Pg.3): Issue # T24-105 / Fall Winter issue. Page 3 is just after the front colored section.

There you`ll find a bunch of good info.

Have Fun,

Russ

Thanks Russ- that helps!

You guys are probably sick and tired of me repeating this.

Save yourself some money and get a Build Record from TRA for $20 instead of a BMIHT Certificate for umpteen pounds.

Same info, just not as fancy lookin'.

Sorry for repeating this advice.

Hi Randy. Hope you guys are almost completely dried out by now.
As a reference point, my car, TS58476LO, a 1960 model 3A, was built on Tuesday, September 1, 1959.

best regards, fja

I don't have a build sheet or anything, but based on the date that certain changes were made in production and a bit of calculations, my TS 23677 L was built in the second or third week of October, 1957. I should get one of those TRA build sheets to see how far off or how close my calculations are.

Actually John, I think it is real good advice, I just never remember it as I picked up a Heritage certificate when I visited their museum during our brief life over there.

I just need to get off my rear and sign up for TRA.

Well I now know I have TS69059 L, or at least the pieces of it, which I think puts it built in February 1960. Plus another parts car that is missing its commission plate. Also missing its body tags too, which makes me really wonder on its history.
