Sorry, but I don't have a decent photo. Here's a drawing from TRF.

Got a call from the shop yesterday. Brian said that the square shaft of the handle mechanism has a threaded hole. What function does this hole serve? Is there a "keeper" or something else attached to the end of this shaft. Anyone have a good close up photo?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly and will look at one later today, a screw and washer go there to help secure it to the latch assembly. Keeps it from rattling as well.

If the screw wasn't there someone could undo the 2 outer screws and withdraw the handle, then use almost anything (e.g. a Dzus tool) to turn the latch.

Of course, even with it there, someone could remove the screws, lift up a bit on the collar around the handle, and then turn the handle. I'm not sure that would be easier than picking the lock though (they practically pick themselves)
