TR2/3/3A TR3A ball joint boot

Jack the car under the lower A-arm. That will compress the spring and take all the force off the ball joint. Then you can pop it off the vertical link and do what you need to do.
 
do I have to use pickle fork to release the vertical arm from the lower connection of the ball joint
 
Most likely. Use care that the fork does not contact the tapered stud, or it could cause a stress riser. Another option that usually works is to place a hammer touching the vertical link on one side, and rap the link on the opposite side with a second hammer. It "rings" the steel and releases the tapered post. Finally, they do make pullers, although they do not always fit.
