I've got the narrow (4.5") wires on my TR3, and would like to go to a wider wheel. If I were to put on the 72 spoke 6" wires that go on the TR6, will I run into any problems with fender clearance, alignments or bump steer etc.?? or is this just a simple knock-on modification??

I can't be certain, but I have 60 spoke wheels on my TR3a. I think they are 5" wide with 175SR tires and I don't have a problem with fender clearance or steering problems.

Dave

I just put wire wheels on my TR3 and went with skinnier tires. I had 185/70 on the steel wheels with no clearence problems. I went to 165R15 on the wires. Not only does it look more correct but it's fun to slide the rear end around corners which you can not do with fat tires.
