TR2/3/3A tr3 windshield Tenax fasteners

I am in the final stages of restoring a 1960 TR3A. In the middle or instaling a new Stayfast cloth from Moss. The back section no problem, but the front at the windshield has a double fold and it appears this thickness is to thick for the Tenax fasters to hold. Has any one incountered this situation?

Yes, this seems to crop up all the time. The usual usual procedure is to fold back that flap and just have the fasteners connect directly to the windscreen frame and not through that extra fold. There is some wisdom out there that thinks that this is the way it's supposed to be done, but I don't know that for sure.

did you trim the Tenax fasteners where they went through the windshield frame? I ask because we just cracked the windshield during installation.
Also, do you have pictures of the top installed on the windshield, we are about to start that job.
