TR2/3/3A TR3 windscreen seal

My windshield frame did not have the rubber seal on top when I acquired the car. I purchased this seal, but now need to mount it. First of all, am I correct that the left side of this photo is the front, and the open "loop" on the right goes around the back of the top of the frame?

Also, what is the best way to insert this once I trim the edge to mate flush with the frame mounting bracket? Any and all tips will be appreciated.

You are correct in the orientation of the seal. The open part wraps around a lip that extends out of the back of the windscreen.

When I mounted mine, I started at one end and made the angled cut to mate with the stanchion upright. I'll take a pic and post it. Then I just used a small screwdriver and worked it into the cavity. Don't cut the other end until you're satisfied with how everything looks, as you can re-do the angle cut if you have to. Once you're OK with everything, make the last angle cut.

My cut isn't perfectly angled, but you get the idea. I also used a little silicon lube to make insertion easier. Also, make sure there are no remnants of the old seal in the cavity.
You can see how it's only angled on the front part. I squared off the back part. I believe this to be correct.

In addition to lubing it, you may find it easier to pull thru if you stretch it as you work. Just be sure to let it relax back to its natural length before final trimming.

Nice goin'...looks like you didn't run into any snags.
