Finally. My first real drive in the restored Tr3. It was only about 30 miles BUT WOW WHAT FUN I had forgotten how much fun these things are. It ran great with no real issues. Well not quite the little wife said it was a little breezy even with the top up. Question will a set of wind wings make a big difference? I would like to keep to lttle lady happy.

Best thing I find is a rubber band and hat tends to keep the wife happier. It is the wind blowing the hair around that gets my wife. But the wings may help with some of that.
 
From the information I have seen and being in a few car rides it does make a difference. The windshield does not have any curve and the wind wings help to curl the air around the cockpit. Just my two cents worth.
 
IMO the wind wings help substantially up to 40 mph or so. Beyond that, the difference becomes less noticeable.

A "little breezy" is an understatement ... I once took a date with long hair out for a ride. She only spoke to me once more, to tell me that it took her a week to get all the tangles out of her hair!
 
I have wind wings and the sun visors on my TR-3B and love them. I also think they add to the looks of the car.
 
I'll concur that the wings are very effective at reducing the buffeting. I have an old one that I use only on the drivers side (tonneau half open) when I'm solo. Looks a bit strange I guess. Then I have a nice set for when the lady is along.

Wind wings certainly help, but probably not enough to make the "better half" happy, especially when there's a strong wind whipping in on her side of the car.

She might be more comfortable with her sidescreen on, which cuts the buffeting a lot. Two owners here have solved that problem to a degree with custom built partial sidescreens. Clear plexiglass is used to fill in the triangle above the cutaway doors. They cut the rush of cold air to the kidneys, but don't do much at face level.

My wife takes an age to fix her hair, so for club social events we fit the full weather gear outward bound, then remove the soft top for the trip home. Both parties are then happy campers.

Wind wings make a great difference. Not only will your passenger be happier, you will be happier with them on. And you can put them on or take them off in a minute or two.
 
Visors have been on the car for past six years. They are gray plexiglass.

I'm not going to the show. Have to rendezvous with several old MG's and drive to Clifton for coffee.

I'll be at Hunt Valley.
 
I wouldn't have it any other way. Full wind blowing wife or not that's the beauty of the top down racing along feeling. And I live in a rather windy place. besides very little problem with the hair in my case, I have very little. Now the wind in my ears is another story I've found as I get older I like that less and less. So now head phones and some appropriate music keeps tha wind from whistling through my head.
