What do you guys use to seal trans cover to floors and bulkhead.I didnt see a premade gasket in Moss or TRF,and was thinking of making one out of gasket mat'l,or seam sealer tape, but was wondering if there are any other common practices or ideas.
I want something that will make future removal easy,so a bead of silicone is probably not a good idea.
Thanks
Tom

I think the TR4 gasket can be made to fit; but I use household silicone caulk. My tunnel doesn't fit very well, and the caulk fills the gaps better than a gasket would.

It does make removal a bit more difficult, but not too bad. Generally I can cut most of it with my pocket knife and pry the rest apart. But if worst comes to worst, just a little heat will soften it.

I do not think the tr3 tunnel had a gasket, did it? I have tried making them out of rubber tape, but it misaligned the bolt holes too much. Perhaps a couple rows of duct tape would provide a gasket for the matting surface. At the end of the day I did not use one.

I used some Fatmat sound deadening material (its like dynamat). I cut strips to fit the lip of the cover and stuck the sticky side to the cover. It has worked quite well.

I went with the 3M body seam sealant available in any auto paint supply store. It "seamed" to be the closest to what came off, and it remains pliable so you can remove it later.

I used a 3M caulk product..........looks like a flat "rope" of caulk. It flattened out nicely and filled in all the gaps. Bought it a Ace Hardware.

Sorry I missed this thread earlier but I purchased the TR4 kit from TRF and used it on my 3A. ISTR that it fit OK with minimal trimming.
