TR2/3/3A TR3 tie rods - made of precious metal or what?

I just priced the tie rods for the TR3 and yikes they seem expensive. Any ideas or do I just need to gulp hard and fork over the dough?

Not worth compromising on quality and having to replace them frequently, but wonder if you guys have found any good sources outside of the big 3?

Thanks.

Four tie rods from Moss for $118 complete...$119 from TRF...that's less then $30 apiece. I don't think that's very high at all. :confuse:

Are you sure your existing ones need to be replaced? I think mine may be original, those things seem to last forever with an occasional boot replacement and regular greasing.

Hi Randall - the boots are cracked on the outer ones so I was assuming they needed to be replaced.

Sorry for the bad picture, but it is the gaiter / boot that is cracked that the arrow is pointing at.

The actual joints are high quality steel, they last much longer than the rubber boots. TRF has replacement boots for just a couple of $$ each. 107440 I think.
