TR2/3/3A TR3 Tie Ends

Can anyone tell me if the inner and outer tie rod ends have right and left hand threads? I bought a set of outer and inner tie rod ends off of two different poeple on Ebay. The inner's are left and right hand threads. The outer's are both left hand threads. One of the big 3 tech person said that was right, but I can only get the two inner ends and one of the outer's to screw into my rods. Please what going on here.
Thanks
Greg

Threads on the ends of each pair have to be opposite (one lefthand, one righthand) so the length of the rod can be changed by turning the center section.

Nope, not right. Both inners should be RH threads, both outers LH.

The zerk locations are different too, and as I recall are the only thing that keeps the whole tie rod from being turned end-for-end. The outer zerks are on the top, while the inner zerks are on the side. The two inner ends are actually different only because the zerk is on the other side.

All 3 different ends (inner LH, inner RH, outer) are illustrated at

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but Randall's information regarding the location of the zerks on the TR3 tie rod ends has me wondering about the tie rod ends I installed on my car 2 years ago. All 4 ends have the zerks on the top. Can I assume that the zerk locations are for convenience of greasing and have no bearing on the function of the end.
Thanks Barry

That's right. The only other problem might be if they hit on something, but obviously they don't.
