Did I read somewhere on this forum that the thrust washers that come from Moss are thinner than the stock ones? I'm putting my front suspension together(dying to drive the car without further delay while the weather is good)so I'm wondering what are the consequences of assembly using the thinner Moss washers if indeed they are thinner? Karl

Pretty sure he's talking about item 106 (though I can't read that number in the photo above). The ones I got were fine, but that was a long time ago.
As I see it, if you can adjust them properly, the thickness is not critical. If they are too thin to adjust, send them back!
Or, just reuse your old ones. I've never seen them actually wear out, even in some pretty grotty old front suspensions.

Yes I am talking about 106 washers. Might have read about the thickness issue on another forum. What would the consequences be if I used the thinner ones? I can't find some of the old ones. The one I did find was definetly thicker. I'm thinking Moss outsourced these washers to India or China and they are not up to spec!

That was likely a thread I contributed to a couple of years ago. Actually the Moss washers worked fine, it was the washers from TRF that I found were too thin in my case. The TRF washers were part of their overall suspension rebuild kit, and to my discredit I did not let Armagh Pa know so there may be a possible issue. I did buy new trunnions from TRF (3 degree version for a TR4) and they have been fine.
If you have washers in hand, I can probably dig up the parts I'm taking about and get some reference measurements if needed.

Well I'll go with the Moss ones. Just wanted to make sure. I remember an issue with split cotter valve retainers that I got from Moss. Good thing when rebuilding the head that my friend noticed that several of them were barely gripping when in place. Sent them back....would have been a disaster if he hadnt noticed.
