Were there two types of screws for the domes over the years? I bought a set of SU's on Ebay that I am rebuilding and it appears as if there are two types of screws unless the PO has mixed them up. One type has a rounded head and coarser thread the other type has a higher more squared off head with a finer thread?

AFAIK, always the same thread/head. In any case, they wouldn't be mixed on the same carb! Someone has "fixed" it ...

I think all the SUs and Strombergs used coarse Fillister head screws. I have seen those replaced a lot, typically with 10-24 round head screws.
