TR2/3/3A TR3 steering column bracket

My new alternator belt adjustment travel is being limitied by what appears to be a rt. hand steering column bracket.I guess they put one on each side to make a universal chassis?
Is there any good rason to not remove this bracket,other than judging or to make rt hand drive.

Just a standard frame fitment and no big loss to lop it off. Concours judges, stretched for time, would probably just note the alternator and not poke around there too much more.

Thanks,just wanted to make surei I wasnt mising something before I got out the saw..Looks like only the top half needs to go so I can leave the bottom nut and maybe use for wiring clamp or something else.Thanks again.

It may be more than that; it may be your motor mounts have worn out. 7 or 8 years ago I thought I had a problem with the Webbers carbs I was running, they were very close to the inner fender and would even hit the fender on occasion. I looked and finally found that the motor mounts had pretty much disengaged. That would drop the engine an 1” to 1 ½” .

Thanks Russ.All motor mounts are new.I think I had reduced clearance because the small Kubota alt. lower flange pivot is closer to the center of alt. than on the generator,so it sits a little lower.I sawed the top half of rh column mount off today and everthing looks good.I thought the belt that Moss supplied with fan eliminator kit was to big but now it works and the alt. has more adjustment range and is a little farther from engine heat.
