TR2/3/3A TR3 Starter rebuild

Does anyone have a place they recommend for getting an early tr3 starter rebuilt. I am in upstate NY and have issues with my starter and need to get it rebuilt. I am hearing from local guys that they can not get parts and so can not do rebuild.

Appreciate any help!:smile-new:

If you don't have any luck getting your starter rebuilt, you might give British Starters.com a try. They sell a rebuilt TR3 starter for $189.95. I just installed one in my TR6. Very happy. No core charge either. So you can have a spare. Good luck.

Hopefully you can find someone in your area though I suppose if you are going to cram it into a USPS flat-rate box the around the corner or across the continent is the same shipping cost.

These guys rebuilt the starter on my other British car and the results were just fine: https://www.tucsonalternator.com/

For mine (E-Type) it ran $84.

I usually rebuild my own since the TR starter is relatively easy to R&R but for that other car I wanted to be reasonably sure I never had to take it out again.

Try Atlas Electrical Rebuilders in Syracuse. No personal experience but these small operations are generally cheap and reliable. Tom
