TR2/3/3A TR3 Side Curtain Questions

Hello all,

I am getting rid of a set of TR3 Dzus side curtains, original, in need of total refurb. How do I tell which VIN range mine are for, I think there were three styles, and will they fit a TR2 also if someone wanted them (shorter doors on any TR2's or TR3's, can't remember?). If anyone has a price range I should ask for these cores (could be used currently but not pretty) I'd appreciate the advice. Thank you all. I think I had this discussion a year or so ago, but have forgotten all of the answers!

The Dzus type sidescreens were introduced at commission number TS28826 (Feb 58). They will not work on the earlier cars, as they had the wedge type mountings. I suppose the mounting plates could be changed to make them work, but then again, just about anything can be changed enough to make it work.

If you're selling them, just advertise them as what they are...Dzus style. Anyone looking for a pair will know what they are. Less hassles that way.

Hello Art,

Thanks, that is immensely helpful.. I saw that there are some do-it-yourself windows and materials available, which I don't remember ever having seen. Seems like around $200 or a bit more on could do the restoration at home and save around $500. I am asking around $70, think that seems reasonable. I know I paid more, bought them for the 1957 I never brought home... TS20xxx or somewhere around there. Anyway, I bought the wrong set apparently. Appreciate the information greatly!

Hello, Eric if I remember correctly. I checked the TRF (Roadster Factory) site, and if you pull up the small TR3 online catalogue, there is a page devoted to sidescreen restoration parts. They mention materials, but not pre-sewn kits. It seems like someone had those available many years back, maybe Victoria British? The Dzus fasteners and springs, and usually the plates are available from the usual sources, or at least they always were when I owned a TR3 and read the catalogues constantly. I think it would be challenging, but rewarding to do this project. There's not alot of vinyl/leather required, so it may actually be a good first upholstery project. Willing to try, search ebay for my set, I priced them fairly! Thanks Eric,
Let me know if you run across rebuild kits, maybe pre-sewn covers, if mine don't sell I may try my luck and make a fortune doing this for a living....

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I'd like to find Curtain bits for Morgans. I've been meaning to find out how the locost guys make theirs, but haven't yet.....
