My wife doesn't care for the stock rubber boot (plus it keeps popping off) and would prefer a tan leather boot - any suggestions?

Thanks,

You will have to custom make it. I would suggest leaving the rubber boot, and making a leather overboot to cover up the rubber. Your wife is correct, that big hunk of rubber is a bit much.

You might want to look at the TR6 boot, it might be big enough to cover it. You should see how bog the rubber boot is on an early car. At least the later cars carpet fit over the base of the boot.

I thought the carpet fit over the top on all the TRs. ??

As shown in George's picture the early cars boot would go over the top of the carpet, and then you had to fit it under the trans tunnel (tight fit). The two plugs are also a tight fit, one is shown in the picture.
