TR2/3/3A tr3 sending unit gaskets

Hi all has anyone determined if those nylon gas tank sending unit gaskets that are sold with those replacement tanks for a tr3 should be used. I guess I do not see the advantage. They look to me like they would be too hard and not compress, but perhaps they seal better and last longer. I do not know.

I have no experience with the nylon ones, but noticed yesterday that the one I cut from cork almost 30 years ago is still doing it's job.

I didn't like the nylon gasket. It seeped. So I used two of the cork ones. Plenty squishy -- better seal.

I second (or third) making it from cork. Used Hylomar on both sides and no smell or leaks in the years since.
