TR3 seat frame issue

Is there any other option for mounting the seat/spring to the seat frame on a TR3? Very difficult to have the rods on the bottom of the spring assembly catch the riveted clip of the seat frame, and does not seem very stable.
 
I think that's about it... tip/push/sit. You must have redone the upholstery and now it's a tight fit??
 
The upholstery has definitely been redone. Does not seem to catch and may need to open up the clips a bit. Thanks.
