TR2/3/3A TR3 Replica With Space Frame

I think it could be pretty fun and you would have some latitude with the drive train without feeling you are damaging a scarce original TR3. I can't seem to access their website though.

I kinda like it; I wonder what it weighs, engine type, etc.

I like it. Saves "real" TR3s while allowing adult hoonage with fake version. But I have to admit, if I had one of these, I'd still want a real one too.
The company states it runs a Zetek or Pinto (Euro-style) engine. The website does seem dead.

I dislike the rear mini-flares and those awful wheels.

~Another website with info on these~

Perhaps this is a 'coming of age' thing for the TR3 -- sorta like Healeys becoming such an iconic roadster that the Sebring was born.

Wouldn't want one but at some level I'm happy to see it.

I guess I could see the modern underpinnings advantage, But TR3s aren't that difficult to find, and are reasonably priced. It doesn't seem like there'd be a very large market for a replica that costs a lot more than the original.
I do agree that it's nice to give "hotrodders" a modern version to do anything they want to do, and not cut up originals. we lose enough every year to extensive rust causing them to be parted out.
I bet you can build one of those that would drive rings around even the best set up original. I'd like to see some video.

While in a way I like it, I don't want to see the day when the first question a TR3 owner must answer is - "Is that a kit" (like every owner of real Porsche Speedsters and Cobras).

I already get that from some people "Nice kit car. Who makes it?".

I think the company that makes this replica may have already gone out of business. I saw this car awhile back but when you try to go to their site now you get a '403 forbidden' message.

I prefer the idea of the reproduction GT6 body. All fiberglass, and with plenty of lonely spit and GT6 frames out there, its a perfect idea.
I see TR3's out number every other Triumph at most shows, so i really don't see it nessacery to make a kit car.

Out here TR6s outnumber all other triumphs combined, and sometimes in general British car shows, give MGBs a run for their money for most cars of a particular model

I've always loved the TR3 and TR2, the small mouth ones have a much better aesthetic than the wide TR3As in my eye, but I like the A's and Bs too =)

The owner of the company that makes these has asked permission to join the forum and post a reply here. I have given him the green light.
