Tr3 release bearing. Has anyone had any experience with the KOYO or the RHP brands of release bearings? I have been burned before on some of these after market products, so I do a lot of research before I buy. It looks like Moss sells the RHP brand (but I am not sure) and I have only heard of the KOYO brand. The RHP uses a nylon center and that looks kinda cheese, but some of that white nylon is good stuff. Any input will be much appreciated. In addition, I do have a kinda good looking old one and does anybody have a back yard way of testing them. The bearing feels tight and does not rattle when I spin it by hand, but I am not sure what will happen once it hits a spinning clutch.

Hi,

I'm afraid I can't comment on either of those brands.

I'd suggest you call or email John Swauger at TRF Level 2 sales: (800) 234-1104. He's had lots of experience with the various TO bearings, is most likely to know the best options and they sell the special tool that helps insure it's installed correctly.

Funny you should ask, not 5 minutes ago I completed putting the release bearing in. Still need to put the transmission back in. I used the RHP brand from MOSS, sorry I can't tell you more about it. I too have had problem with Release bearing. Hope this one holds up.

Good Luck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Well good luck Russ with that TOB I will definitely be interested to see how that goes. I remember your post awhile back and it sounded to me like you had a hydraulic problem or perhaps a clutch adjustment problem. They should not go out that much. They are only used when you push on the clutch. Tell me with that nylon center on the RHP bearing, were you able to press the bushing on yourself?
