Hi all I posted a picture of what I believe to be what an original over flow tube would like on a tr3 radiator. Please correct me if I am wrong because I am only guessing.

No pix attached...

By George, King that is, I believe you've got it!

You mean the plastic tie-wraps haphazardly holding mine to the fender weren't original?

I don't recall seeing the clip to the radiator brace before ... are you guys sure that's correct ? I've just got the clip to the inner fender (not that it proves anything).

sp53 - The photo you show with the clamp at the top bolt holding the rad to the threaded rod is correct to hold the hose. My 1958 TR3A also came with a small circular clamp about 4" below that one where the two tabs on the clamp are inserted into a hole in the side frame of the radiator. From there, it just hangs down to just below the main chassis frame where it will expel any water or antifreeze mix all over the bottom of the RHS of your frame and floor-panels.

But that should never happen as you will never have an overheat problem unless you blow a head gasket climbing a long mountain road where you get stuck behind a bunch of slow-poke tourists in traffic.

The lower clamp 4" down is somewhat like the photo attached but the inverted "V" should be circular.

I seem to remember having a second one of these circular clamps many years ago to secure the hose further down, but I can't find where it would have been. maybe it was inserted into a hole on the inside of the main chassis frame. I'll have to check this out. I had it all apart this past weekend and just put the hose clamps back into place for my overflow hose on Sunday. I don't have any other holes in the side frame of my radiator to insert a lower circular clamp so maybe it is in the frame.

Hi all and thanks for your comments. I put the clip in the inner fender well hole because the other side did not have a hole there. I think I remember TexN saying he found a clip in that area. I will be interested in what Don finds out. Oh Yes, I got the radiator and the little clip at the top From Andy M. and the plastic fan from Mickey. That is what makes this forum so cool.

this is an old post, but the clip for the overflow hose on the radiator is the same as a fuel line hose on a tr3a and tr3.
