TR2/3/3A TR3 on Craiglist

I see Randy has beat me to it. Looks like a few other minor indiscretions, like no side curtain mounts, wrong gauges, etc.

Still might not be a bad car, if you wanted an automatic TR3. Depending of course on which Pinto engine it has.

I haven't looked at it, but it has been for sale in Craigslist on and off for about a year now.

I think it is funny that the ad says $8300 but the shoe polish on the windshield in the picture is $8000.

I have not seen the car in person, but I guess if you got the car for the right amount of money, you could undo the Pinto engine / AT conversion.

However, it also has one of the two diseases that drive me nuts when I look at TR3's. Disease number one: The rear fender / back panel seams below the taillights are gone.

The second pet peeve is the bondo applied to the rockers below the doors at the rear of the car and people saying it is putty free!

I had images sent of this car specifically to see what was going on below the door handles at the rocker panels.....all puttied over....Primrose Yellow TR3

The description includes this  :
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:] Described in part by the appraiser as being, "The true essence of a British Sports Car which coined the phrase nice things come in small packages. It is viewed by me as being virtually rust free. It also shows and presents well in it's fully restored true to form original condition. The exterior and interior are in near show like condition"

The car has a valid inspection sticker and is ready to be enjoyed for the summer! The Commission Number of the car is TS56875L[/QUOTE]

Wow! Only seven cars before The Blue TR3! That's the closest one I have come across.

Among other things, that "Primrose" car appears to have the wrong seats or, at the very least, the wrong upholstery kit. Also, it's got the TR2/early TR3 style of commission number plate, which I think is wrong for that late a TR3A? Oh, and pair up the quoted commission number with an almost completely indecipherable EB number, and the red flags are going up for me!
