TR2/3/3A TR3 oil pressure relief valve

I've been watching my oil pressure closely since the rebuild. As stated in another thread, it sometimes drops to zero at idle. I ordered and installed a new oil pressure relief ball and spring. I turned the screw out 21 turns and re installed it 21 turns with the new ball and spring. Is there a better way to know where that adjusting screw should be set? My book says don't touch it, but its a little late for that.

Sorry to say this, but it is unlikely the relief value is going to fix much here.

That is likely true. However, I still need to adjust it to a point close to where it belongs.

The relief valve is supposed to open around 70 psi.

Thanks TR3driver, I figured before long you'd chime in and set me straight. I hooked in a oil pressure gauge that I know works and adjusted the valve. I think I'm good.
Thanks
