TR2/3/3A TR3 Interior

I am getting to the point in my rebuild that I have to start considering where I buy a complete inerior. Moss? The ebay guy from Ohio? Thoughts? Thanks. I need EVERYTHING! I have the caps and dash, but they will need to be recovered. I am thinking tan or the honey tan. It's a post 60k so can I buy it with white piping?

I bought from TooTallTim, the ebay guy from Ohio. Very fast, very easy to work with. If you are going concours be aware he uses foam for the seats (he also makes the steel buckets as well. I actually wanted the foam, and asked him to make them a little lower to accommodate my 6' frame and associate beer gut. He did a great job.

Very minor nit on my seats was a few tucks on the back of one seat that I thought could have been better, but it wasn't enough for me to complain or send back either - if I did the interior again, I'd use him again for sure. He did my cappings as well and they turned out very nice.

Thanks for the info. I have the steel seats, my springs are in great shape, I even still have the hair I pulled off and is still in great shape. Am I still going to need all of the springs with the guy from Ohio?

A few more places to look are TRF, Heritage Trim, and John Skinner. There is an other source for interiors on Ebay but I can't think of the name. He's on the East coast.

I needed everything so he did it all for me - my bet is he would recover springs as well, or just send you the kit and you do it yourself.

BCF You can also sew your own and make your own panels. Craig L did a nice write-up on sewing the seats in the BCF wiki, that I followed when sewing mine. You can always take the patterns and the write-up to a local shop.

I'm not looking for show quality, just the best bang for the buck. Moss has a sale right now and I priced out everything; carpet, panels, vinyl for 1200, leather for 1385. Not too bad I thought.

+1 for TOO Tall on Ebay. Pick whatever material you want. If you choose leather he will cover the side panels with the same material however. You can have him do the whole interior including recovering the caps, and send seat covers ready to be installed on your seats VERY,VERY, economically. And he's fast too, and his patterns are accurate

Of course, any vendor is only worth considering if they offer Targo Purple as a color option.

(Sorry; that's kind of an inside joke between Randy and me!)

I haven't given up that thought Andy! But right now the interior is deep red with light gray piping.

I used the Moss product purchased through LBC.Any Moss sale is passed on plus 9% more off. It was the most economical I could find. It worked well. It was a labor of love thing, but I'm pleased with the results. If I had the funds I would have used Tim just to get it all leather. I still plan on getting his seats when the funds are available.

I would suggest you get material samples from different Vendors.I am probably going with Too Tall,Because I need both steel seats ,and the price seems good.
I got samples of red leather from him and TRF.TRF leather has finer grain, and is thicker.while TT is coarser grain, almost like pigskin, football type, and a little thinner.I havent got sample from Moss, but will. The Moss seats
I have seen at shows seem the thickest, especially the front seats bottom front panel, that is almost like a smooth belt leather ,closer in my opinion to the original seats.
I have also noticed variations in front seat piping with some white piping going across the front seat bootom/front panel, while mine had this one piece of piping color matched to the red seats, rest of piping white.
Tom.

This is all great info. Was tan with white piping an original option in 1960? And if I'm considering BRG or a variation of it, would get honey tan or tan?

If you go with leather make sure the leather and vinyl are a good match. Some of the venders do not have a good match.

true, but only on a 'geranium' car!

You should get the color that YOU like best......unless you are going for a concourse points car...........and most of us are not! I spent a lot of money getting the body of my car "right", and the first thing most people mention when they see it it how nice the interior is.......It was one of the LEAST expensive items from Too Tall. Get the combo you like and enjoy your car....some people will agree with your choice, some won't, but in the long run who cares...it's YOUR car!!
Cheers
Gordon
