Good morning,
I have a 1959 Tr3 with a Tr4 motor and want to install the Tr3 heater, but I can't tell if the pipe in the head can be screwed out so I can replace it with the proper valve. Has anyone done this?
Thanks
Greg

Yup, threads are the same. At least in theory, just unscrew the half-elbow, clean up the threads, and screw in the TR3 valve.

If it's too badly corroded, you may wind up having to drill and tap to get the broken end out of the head, but even that isn't too difficult.

I agree - on my TR4 I inadvertently broke the elbow off flush with the head. A little bit of drilling was all it took to get it to loosen up and I was able to back out the remainder.
