TR2/3/3A TR3 Heater Coolant Flow Direction

I would like to find out the direction of coolant flow to the TR3 heater: Is it out of or into the valve on top of the cylinder head?

Thanks,

Tim

Hey Tim,

It flows out of that valve and into the cockpit, then out through the firewall on the driver's side.

Cheers,
Gavin

Have any of you guys repalced the manual heater valve with a vacuum operated valve,or electric solenoid valve to control the hot water from the cockpit so you could have some defrost if needed, even if heater valve was off for summer, with out popping the hood?
just a thought,
Tom

Tom: That seems like a lot of trouble to go through for occasional use. If you close the heater doors, open the vent flap and turn on the blower which should clear your windscreen. Alternatively during the warm weather maybe just crack open the valve a bit. You can fit a TR4A heater control valve and cable control also.
