Tom,The rimmers /Bastuck pic that popeye posted looks better but you still see the distortion by the lifter openings.
Tom
Thanks! I plan on using the Rimmer gasket with the copper spray. I had the thinner TRF one as part of a complete set of gaskets, and used it to trial fit the head and make sure the liners were fully seated.Mike, I'd guess the Rimmer Bros. one will still surround the liner tops totally. And if you do use the TRF one, Permatex copper spray!!
EDIT: Use the spray on ANY of 'em.
Top photo is the “basic” copper gasket from TRF, bottom the Payen from across the pond. Both are not round around the cylinders - almost like on purpose?? However it seems there is plenty of “meat” of the sleeve under the gasket.Tom,
I am planning on installing my head this weekend. I'll take and post some photos of a copper gasket from TRF as well as the "fancy" gasket from Rimmers.
Thanks mike that would be much appreciated.Tom,

(And none too happy about the scratch on the Payen by cylinder #2… argh.)

That may be,but it doesnt make sense to me.The "odd" shape of the gaskets is to accommodate the valves at full open.
