TR2/3/3A TR3 Fuel Pump rebuild

I'm rebuilding the fuel pump on my TR3A and have AC Delco and County brand rebuild kits. I notice that neither kit has the oil seal and oil seal retainer that is on the old diaphragm unit. Just wondering if the newer kits don't require these parts or maybe they are, coincidentally, just missing. If needed, I can probably salvage the old one?
Thanks

For many years none of the kits came with that seal, and said to reuse the old one. TRF now has the seal as it was in the rebuild kit I bought from them (which they apparently 'kit' themselves from component parts).

The seal is probably less important than it was; I believe it was added to keep crankcase fumes away from the fuel pump diaphragm as they would degrade the original diaphragm material. But I also believe modern materials (as required for modern fuel) are less affected so the seal isn't as important now.

However, it also ensures that oil doesn't leak out the pump vent hole; and helps keep fuel out of the crankcase if the diaphragm fails. I would at least leave the old one in place.

Years ago I found an old hydraulic cup (from a brake or clutch slave cylinder of some sort) that seemed to fit. Unfortunately I have no idea where it came from.
