Just tested it and the needle dosn't move. It could be a broken filament wire inside? Best for someone who's had these apart and can bring it back to life.

For a total of $250 you can have it rebuilt with a new sending unit. A wooden yard stick works well and doesn't take up a lot of room.

Karl,
Does the needle move freely, (just doesn't register)?
Turn the gauge around, with the needle pointing up instead of down.
Now twist the gauge from the 9 oclock position to the 3 oclock position.
Does the needle flop back and forth?
If so, I'll take it, If not, it's not much. The needle pivot is not repairable.
Thanks,

Frank I have given the gauge to an electrician who is very knowledgeable about auto gauges. He is going to get back to me after he checks it out. I should know by the middle of May. I'll email you if it's functional but if he has to rebuild it I'll probably want more for it.

Karl,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I rebuild them also, I was just looking for a core.
