TR2/3/3A TR3 Frame Repair

The frame I have for another project looks good except for a short section of the drives side upright. It has had a repair done before I got the frame. (Piece of channel) What size and thickness tubing is used in this area? I want to cut the small rusted area out and weld in some new.

Thanks
