TR2/3/3A TR3 "dead pedal"?

I've been thinking about that myself. If I rest my left foot on the high beam button and completely relax my leg, the button is held down. Not good, I'd imagine.

But where would the foot rest go? I suppose if we never drive at night, a foot rest could go "over" the high beam button?

Tom

Good Morn`n Folks;

Personally; I drive with My Foot resting on the Dimmer Switch:

I rarely (If Ever) drive at night: How many of us do drive our LBCs @ night?

I would think You could probably make a rectangular block; Hollowed out, to just drop over the Switch: It would seem easy to me but again; How many of us drive during the night hrs? In PA buy the way; with an "Antique Plate" (Legally) You cannot drive during those hrs!

Dave; I`d bet You did`nt know that; Did You?

See Ya All Later;

Regards, Russ

PS: Dave; There is a Car Show near me on Bus. RT.209 in Brodheadsville tomorrow: Why not come up: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

I've also been working on this. I purchased a 1980's Mustang dead pedal that bolts on with two bolts. Angle is a little off and placement around the dimmer also need some more thinking but I think I can get it to work for the 3A and the 4A.

Here's one on ebay right now

Russ,
I knew all about the Antique Plate limitation, and therefore had already decided to make get a Classic Plate when I renew the registration

I won't be able to join the show tomorrow. I have a concert to sing in during the afternoon, and then we are going on vacation to Alexandria Bay NY after I get home...and the TR3B will have the week off. It sounds like the weather will be beautiful for the show.

I can't believe you're not allowed to drive your LBC at night. Most of the late afternoon to evening cruises here go into the night time hours. Some of my best memories (adrenalin rushes) are driving the 3 on moon lit nights with the top down where 40 mph feels like you're doin 80!

This is why I don't have antique plates. Driving on a summer night is on of the great reasons for owning a convertible.

That's why I updated my headlamps to the H4 TriPods.

I made a Dead Pedal for the TR4 by cutting down a plastic M&M container so it fit snugly over the dimmer button.

The TR3A has a larger diameter button I think but any plastic bottle of an appropriate diameter should do (aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamins, Viagra, etc.) just cut the top off leaving the length you need to cover the button.

Easy to remove to when you do night driving.
