My cloth covered bypass hose got a rupture with 7 years 18k miles service.Car never overheated and luckily the puddle on the floor cancelled my day but at least I found out at home.
The hose is the original look cloth covered but the hose is just molded rubber with no typical spiral reinforcement like the two lower hoses. The top cloth covered bellows hoses is also just molded rubber that peeled off the pump like it was already half rotten.I deciced to just change everything and a BPNW silicone kit is on the way
(Moss didnt have the bypass in silicone).
So a heads up if you have one of these in service for similar time you may want to check.
Anyone else using the silicone hoses?
Also no negative feeling towards supplier as these original type hoses were what I wanted at the time.

Yes, after a similar experience with a cloth wrapped hose, I saw a silicone hose and it has been in service since. 5+ years.

Thanks Charley,I didnt get the new silicone hoses yet.Hoping the top hose bellows are as flexible as the original.
I suspect the original cloth outer was a reinforcement rather than just a decorative sleeve.
