TR2/3/3A TR3 car cover. What's your opinions

I'm going to be trailering my TR3 to Ohio for a month this summer. I have no side curtains.
1) The commercially available cockpit covers look like they me be the ticket for getting caught in an occasional rain storm. But I have my doubts that one would help while open trailering at 70 mph thru a rain storm.
2) Noah or Weathershield seem to be the best choice for "full custom fit" covers.

Opinions please

And no, the cars not a trailer queen. I just want to have my truck up there too.

I would not use a full cover on a car while trailing. The flexing of the cover will rub the paint off or scratch it. I have used the cockpit cover in the rain without any problems.

Have you considered just renting an enclosed trailer? Any kind of fabric cover is going to be prone to flapping in the wind unless it is very well attached every few inches.

The other option would be a tonneau cover that fits on the LTD pegs every few inches around the cockpit. Unfortunately they don't fit right on some cars. My current plans are to make my own, after finding that the ones supplied by both Moss & TRF don't fit my car. The Moss website even shows a photo where the cover doesn't reach two of the pegs!

Yeh the tonneua would work well. I bought mine at Prestige out of England when I bought a wool carpet kit and a soft top. They were cool and the products were excellent. I am not sure about them know because that was back in the early 2000, but I must say the top still looks good and the tonneua fit fine.

Maybe you should pull the pick-up with the TR3? A few thousand miles is not that far, and it probably will not be raining the whole way... Come-on, how wet could you get?

Thanks for your thoughts.
You're right about the fabric rubbing the paint. I had forgotten that years ago I towed a boat from Ohio to Florida with a cover on it. before I got there, the cover was ripped all to **** and flapping in the breeze.
I've got a decent fitting tonneau. I guess I'll stay with that.
As far as an enclosed trailer goes, one of our club members has a super light aluminum open trailer for his Morgan. I'll be borrowing that.
I can't wait to see some roads with hills and twists.

Lukens, above all, enjoy your trip. There is an old song titled "Beautiful Ohio", and until we went into north central Ohio, I thought the song was about the river. I learned it must have been about that part of the state.
