TR2/3/3A TR3 Bolt length/decoder ring?

What length are bolts HB.0968 and HB.0971?

According to my parts manual 2)HB.0968 are used to secure the water pump body to block, and 1)HB.0971 -the latter probably longer since it also goes through the bearing housing and must be inserted before the pulley is pressed back onto the shaft. I thought I had been careful to keep these bolts in the proper order -but I've ended up with three different lengths, not two. Moss and VB have different part numbers for their bolts. Can someone provide me with a cross-reference to the part numbers for bolts/washers?

-While I'm asking... is there a trick to holding a Key onto a shaft while the pulley is slid onto it?

Tex,

HB 968 looks like 3/8" X 2 1/4"
HB 971 looks like 3/8" X 2 5/8"

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Thanks,
Nuts for the decoder -that's way better than "drink more ovaltine".
And M. for assuring me I can use the decoder ring properly.

Soon the quest for a water pump will be at an end. That's another subassembly that gets added to the starter, generator, carbs, wipers, and dash piles. The numerical index lists parts from number 2378 thru 950059 -tho not inclusive, that's less than 92,681 individual parts. Many of those are in the already completed subassemblies, all I lack now is completion of the rest.

I took parts from 5 water pumps to make a good one. I used 4 generators to get one that would function. It took only two starters, and one wiper assembly with some added guitar parts. I've lost track of how many different cars parts are coming together, but it's more than 100.
