TR2/3/3A TR3 Battery Box Installed

Randy, I myself would not cut off the flange that goes under the cowl. It's a bit tight behind the box to get to the holes for welding but it can be done. Even if you miss no one will see the plug welds anyway. Just dress them up on top and your done. After all that is done you can then trim the remaining metal on the flange. Mine was about 1/2" longer than the cowl. Used a Dremil with a cut off wheel and it looks fine. I did go thru 3 wheels to cut it though. If you remove the flange you will not be able to secure the top of the box to the flange. Just to make sure all was secure I put about 5 small bridge welds on the back side of the flange to the underside of the cowl. You will never see them after I install the seam sealer.

I'm not sure how to move this old post over to yours about the battery box question but I hope you find this and it helps.

M Pied Lourd. I hope you see this, not sure how to move it to your post. This is how I installed my battery some time back.

Hi Keith,

Found it thanks.

David
