Currently my left front tire shows both negative
Camber wear on inside tire thread and feather edging due to a toe out.

I have checked for worn parts, and the suspension parts are tight. I have not been able to find any accident damage. The upper wishbone arms have been installed correctly with the front wishbone overlapping rear in the front and fulcrum was installed with loop facing inward.

How can one determine if the vertical link is bent?

Could camber be increased by putting shims between the ball joint and the upper wishbones?
 
Since camber should be about 2 degrees positive, I'd think you could see any bend by eye. If not, probably the simplest way is to swap VLs between sides and see if the camber problem follows the VL.

But IMO a bent suspension tower is more likely. Have you checked the cross tube for any signs of damage or excessive rust? I believe the manual gives some measurements in the frame section, although they'll be pretty hard with the body & engine installed. Might be easier to just take it to a frame shop with a laser measurement system.

Trying to shim that joint seems like a bad idea to me. The shaft has splines that lock it into the A-arms, and is no longer than needed. I don't recall offhand what the distance is between centers, but to make a 4 degree change on a 10" link would take over 1/2" of shim. At least on mine, even 1/8" would mean the cotter pin wouldn't fit into the hole.
 
Fix the toe. With the thin tires we use, it is not camber that is causing your wear, but the toe out.

The most common symptom of a bent vertical link is the steering binds. Because the trunion only allows movement in one direction, a bent link attempts to twist the trunnion in a direction it can't move as it turns. This causes the bind and quickly wears the brass trunnion. With the wheels off the ground, the steering should feel free and easy. If it binds as the angle increases, then the link is bent.

To check further than that, you'll have to remove the link...
