TR5/TR250 TR250 windshield

My friend has a Tr250 that needs a little work after 20 some years of sleep. The windshield needs to come off, I see the brackets and the rod that protrudes thru. With the nut off and some gruntting and wiggling there was no movement. We sprayed both sides with penertrating oil and will try tomorrow. Is there any thing that we may have missed?

Sometimes it's corrosion, sometimes the paint was still wet (supposedly) when the posts were inserted, or maybe it is just been in that one spot for so very long.

I did not have to do this but have heard that some have undone the brackets from the body so they could be twisted a bit on the posts to free things up.

If you do get to the point of giving it mighty tugs upward (what worked for me) keep the nuts threaded on the ends of the posts so if it all lets go at once you don't send it sailing into the ceiling.

Don't forget the three bolts and clips at the base of the w s on top of the dash.

The bracket also acts as a clamp. You must also remove the bolts which are clamping the post. As someone else said remove all of the bracket bolts and see if you can unclmp the post. You may need to reattach the clamp so that the post will then slide out of the clamp.
