TR5/TR250 TR250 Opinions on value wanted

Randy,
Yes the red 4A was mine. We think the same as far as the 250. I would go 5K because it would PROBABLY be a steal and the owner wants 10,!I somehow do not think it would go for 10k without making it run and drive and sortof stop. The rostyle caps will go back on and he will get it cleaned up. I do not need another car but i would step up to the plate at $5,000!

I wasn't suggesting that Bob wasn't knowledgable, just trying to be helpful, as always on the internet with people you don't know you don't know the level of experience etc.

I agree at 5K it sounds like it would be a too good to pass up deal.

Good luck!

Glemon, No problem on this end. All info is taken into account. Please continue to post information like you have done for me. Bob

Speaking of near perfect, the 68 TR listed on VTR (which is a TR250 in TR5 form)is very nice. I personally inspected the car this weekend while in FL. Its more than I can spend on a TR right now, but you couldn't take the one shown here and redo do to the shape this one is now plus have all the TR5 stuff for $27k. No financial interests to this car but if anyone wants to step up to a TR5, here's your car.

I did make the SBMOC meeting. Hap was there and told us about the CMP trip next weekend. I would love to take the Spitfire, but its still inside with the her butt up in the air. I had "finished" it and was about to put it down, when I broke apart the rear hubs on my other Spit. Then I realized I may have installed the inside seals backwards many years ago and may be the source of my squalling noise I taked about in other posts. I'm trying to convnince myslef to go ahead and put the rears hubs apart AGAIN and double check. At elast I ahve the proper tool although I shouldn't need it since I haven't tighened the rear hubs, just tapped ehm with a hammer.

I was thinking $5K would be a good price. For $10K it needs to run and drive.

Personally, I hate Rostyle wheels. I would be tempted to put on the wires from the other TR4 in the background. Provided they are in good condition.

Well after 15 minutes it runs. Sounds pretty good too!Idle is smooth, exhaust is quiet, temp came up to normal and all the guages appeared to work. The passenger floor has nice green paint still on it and the driver side front floor has a bit of surface rust but nothing appears deep pitted. The clutch hydraulics are shot. He said that it would be listed on the Charlotte NC Craigs list soon and probably on ebay once its cleaned up a bit. I bumped my offer a bit from what i thought i would offer. I hope he gets more than I offered. I have 3 American racing Silverstones waiting for this car. `Just need to find one more! He also has a set of 4 Magnesium Silverstones that may be for sale. Also the chassis at the rear still has paint on it at the trailing arm area and appears perfect. My bid is in and if anyone wants his info i can be reached at 704-907-0986 and will pass it on. Bob

Here are some more shots to drool over! Bob

Bob, I love the photo of your red 250; I hope you get this one! Best of luck!

In case you missed it the green TR250 hit ...Ready...$12,500 on ebay last nite. I am thrilled for the old and new owners! It was a bit over budget for me. One day the right TR will follow me home again. Bob
