TR5/TR250 TR250 on Ebay

I think this has potential. It can be brought back close to stock. If I were in the market, I might like a head-turning 250 while tinkering it back to total health, and cosmetics are easy to fix. This one will have body work, too, and I see some wiring issues, but perhaps not material.

Anyone would want to ask about the frame, prior history, why the dash was changed out, the alignment of the trunk, extent of corrosion, etc.

May go cheap.

I've been looking at that one as well although I don't really need another car. What do you mean about the dash being changed out? Looks like it has the right wooden dash from what I recall (same as early TR6 except for chrome hinges on glove box) other than the speedometer appears to have been changed for one with a chrome bezel (TR4/TR4A?).

Aaron,

You should have seen the carpet in my TR4A when I first got it. Nice shag style carpet everywhere.

But hey I was 17 with a convertible Triumph and it was only $500. Rust and bondo waxed up really nice if you looked at it in the dark while squinting....

OH MY GOSH!

Sorry, I was looking at another TR250 on eBay and assumed that was the one that was being referred to. That dash is seriously disturbing.

Aaron, you are right, that interior and dash has to go and is a far cry from the ratty interior my TR4A came with!

Scott

First picture makes the car look pretty good but the dash brings the value down big time. Will be easy to replace unless the metal frame underneath has been hacked or removed. Somebody spent a few bucks but then blew it with the dash and interior.

This was the TR250 that I was was watching on eBay.

TR250 on eBay

It was close to me so I was really tempted to bid on it and sell the second TR4A.

I can see why you were tempted, that doesn't look bad at all.

The new owner just showed up on 6-Pack to introduce himself to the Forum.

Randy,

I was really tempted while it was under $4000 and was about to bid but in the last few minutes it went up over $5000 which was past my comfort level for a car I haven't seen in person. It doesn't help that I'm "old" school and didn't pay over $1000 for any of my Triumphs which shows both how long I've had them and what condition they were in when I bought them! I don't think a TR250 is in my future unless I win the lottery.

Bob,

Glad to see someone got the car that's excited about it. Looks like it's moving out to Phoenix.
