Marv, you've got everything...just wish we lived closer to each other! I think I have this motor ready to reassemble. If I run into issues, I'll be in touch...during my continuing quest to build a 60 year old car by mail order!
I let my 14 year old son take the wiper motor apart. I went through the drudgery of cleaning and painting. The only hard part was that the commutator fell apart when I tried to clean it. I looked all over the country before I found a new commutator that is not perfect, but very close. Now I'll let my son put it all back together...to keep him busy this summer. Anyway, there is a chance my "close" commutator will not work properly, so I very well may be in touch!
That ball eludes me. It looks like it would push in to apply oil, but mine won't budge. It feels like it was drifted into place. I might put more effort into it to see if it'll move.
Also, your head is coming along. I replaced the guides myself. The valve seats look almost new, with the exception of that #4 exhaust. I decided to have them install hardened seats for all 4 exhausts, and only touch the intake seats to true them up. Then just a quick shave and it'll be ready for another 200k miles. That's a lot of parts trips to 'Bama!
