There are both a TR2 and TR3 Front apron (nose clip) currently on eBay.

First of all, is anyone else bidding on the TR3?

Secondly, is there any differnce in the TR2 and TR3 except for the placement of the grill? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thirsty.gif

Was anything on the TR2 ever standardized. From my admittedly limited reading on these cars I believe there were two different noses. My guess is that there would be some differences.

Hi, I looked at the earlier thread and someone does mention about the differences in the deflector design. I would add that at one time I used a TR2 front end on a TR3 racecar thinking it would improve the radiator efficiency. What it did accomplish was allowing much higher temperatures to develop under the hood. So I recommend the smallmouth TR3 if you want to switch. Also be aware that the 2's and 3's had holes in the front of the inner fender wells to accomodate the back part of the turn signal boots. There really is no room on the 3A even for the later model beehive lights unless you make the dimple deeper on the inner fenderwells.
