Help. :bow: I'm writing up some documentation on the early side screen cars. Does anyone have a personal photo (not from a copyrighted publication) of the early overdrive switch. This was the Lucas one that looked similar to a standard "pull-on" type.

Was it not exactly the same switch as used for panel lights and wipers?
 
Randal is right, it was nothing special just single position pull switch,the nob may have even been blank if memory serves(CRS.....what ever that means....)

Howdy Frank,

I was just driving thru & noticed "The Grey Lady" TR3A your restoring.

I have a `57TR3 Small Mouth in the Body (Restoration) shop right now & will be painting mine a "Dove Grey" Ext. color / Dk.Burgundy (Wine) Int. with White Piping, mounted on 2" Wide Whites.

I had a pic saved for the longest time but lost the darn thing.

Is your TR painted yet? If yes; Would you be able to send or post a pic.

Not sure about the copyright issue, but VTR has very good reference photos on the TR2. Here's a link to a pic:

I agree with Randy about the excellent VTR reference photos on the TR2. The "Guide to TR2 Originality" on VTR's web site was authored by Bill Lynn, VTR membership chair, with many photos contributed by TR2 owners. That photo you are looking for is of Jack Schmelyum's TS2616. If you are concerned about copyright issues, send a note to Bill Lynn at triumphtr2@aol.com

I changed my last post to just link to the pic as I find the copyright info a little confusing (ok I'm an engineer, not a lawyer). I'm curious if rendering a linked picture from another website is infringement. My quick read of their writeup implies that it is.

Can't you click the link I made in the original post? On my browser, just clicking the link gets to the picture. Probably shouldn't have edited the post, but I didn't want to inadvertently break any VTR restrictions.

Speak to a lawyer. I was under the impression that a photo (like a Chopin or Mozart piece of music) is allowed free public use after a certain number of years, especially if it is for information and not intended for re-sale by someone for a profit.

Also, do you really think that VTR is so rich as to hire a lawyer to issue a supena to one of their members (read customers) for using and printing a simple photo that is most probably not theirs in the first place.
