Wanted tr2 original grill

Thanks Marv yes it has been sold. I finally got a hold of the guy last week to hear he had not taken it off the for sale list. Still looking

I do have one that , while not perfect ,is pretty good over all. Has some over spray that seems
to come right of with a little 0000 steel wool.

Sounds nice MD; sounds like it will clean up easy. What were they made of anyway, some kind of casting? . What do you figure something like that is worth? Can we do PayPal or anyway is fine actually. My zip is 98466

Steve

They were a pressed alloy rib assembled to an egg crate look and anodized for a chrome
like finish. I will send a picture as soon as I can. Would you need an apron also?

The early tr3s had an egg grate grill that sounds like what you are talking about. The tr2 had something that looked like it had 1/2 inch holes drilled through it and made of some type of casting. Are you sure you do not have an early tr3 grill.

Thanks Steve

It did occur to me that this grill could be easily duplicated in stainless steel and jet cut by a good
fabricator to be an exact re pro of the original casting. The only thing is at that point you may have
to have ten more done to cover the set up costs. (I do know a guy).

I did actually find a grill down in L.A. California. I have not received the grill yet, so not exactly sure of the condition, but the check is in the mail. The grills do look simple in design; it looks hey are flat and cast iron and I heard they are kinda heavy. The grill looks like it might block the radiator some because it sits so far back next to the radiator.

It is quite a grill to install, apron off , it is screwed from the back side one inch from the rad.
The tr2 I did 14 years ago, we installed the grill before final painting.due to the severe amount
of damage the apron had. Think oak tree at 20 mph....
