Does that "curb feeler" have a light in it?

Don't make light of my tools, or how I use them (it doesn't have a light or a curb feeler). The screwdriver was simply sticking in the fender bolt slot so the picture could be taken after I reformed the leading edge of the dog-leg patch. All that's holding it on right now is a pair of vice grips and a 'curb feeler'. If I had a car in better shape, I wouldn't have to be doing a complete body-off, but I'm sticking with the 'as long as I'm in there' attitude. So far no regrets, and I still have the TR6 to drive. -I'll catch up to Ben eventually. Or not.
Hehehehe... Gettin touchy-"feely" about our tools? hehe.
As long as you're making progress, stick to your guns, and "do it while you're in there"! Deep down, I'd much rather have a totally restored car, done right, when I'm all done. but I have faced reality. I have neither the time or money to do it that way. How it's getting done now will leave the option to go back later, if ever, but still I can enjoy it now. I openly admit that the way I'm putting this car together is going against most of my experience restoring cars. Don't do what I do (unless you want to be a rebel! Yeeee Hawwww!).

I agree with KG. "Liberating".
I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Yeah, it doesn't have to run "right", it just has to run right now.

The good thing is that you already know what a totaly shot part looks like, and one that has some life left in it.

Come to the dark side Ben, it'll make you a better tech. Anyone can do it "right", but it takes a special cat to do it wrong and still make it work.

I've already been able to use what I've learned from my junk build to keep our enduro car screaming for 12 hours straight.

Not only does it scream, it wins......by several laps.

For the record, I always keep our cars is tip top. Whenever we have a problem durring a race, I now know how long it'll go before trouble.

Ancient Chinese secret.... I bought it that way. hehehehe. Seriously, they were already in the bonnet when I got the car. I really like 'em. I'm planning on adding the leather racing straps to the front edge as well.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Use what you have when you can.
